Kemsurf PWS is an isopropylamine dodecylbenzene sulphonate based on a linear, high-β-phenyl-based alkylate. At 25°C, Kemsurf PWS appears as a clear brown liquid, free from foreign matter. It is slightly soluble in water, and it possesses a characteristic odor.

Kemsurf SX85 is sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, characterized as a sodium alkyl aryl sulphonate formulated to yield a powdered product with a surface active content of 85%. At 25°C, it appears as an off-white powder with no discernible odor. Kemsurf SX85 is soluble in water.
