- Lansurf STO can be used singularly or in combination with the ester ethoxylates such as Lansurf STO85.
- Typically this product is extremely hydrophobic and finds use as an emulsifier in many waxes and creams for household applications.
- Used in combinations with the exthoxylates, Lansurf STO is used in textiles, leather treatments, silicone oils and agrochemicals.
- This product is also found to be readily biodegradable and would not expect to persist indefinitely in the environment.

- Stainless steel, polyethylene or glass lined equipment is necessary for the storage of Lansurf STO in order to prevent corrosion and subsequent contamination.
- This material can separate on standing and at low temperatures.
