Product Highlights
  • TRAPYLEN® 777 is a modified, low chlorinated polypropylene with reactive groups in order to crosslink e.g. with Desmodur N 3390, Z 4370 or other polyisocyanates. The polymer is dissolved in a mixture of toluene, cyclohexane and butylacetate (ratio: 70+20+10). Main merit is its good adhesion strength on polyolefinic plastics. Adhesion and film flexibility of TRAPYLEN® 777 can be increased when adding maleic modified CPO's like TRAPYLEN® 130 X.

Applications & Uses

Compatible Substrates & Surfaces
Coating End Applications
Drying Procedure
  • Drying condition of 30 s at 80 - 100 °C are sufficient for film forming of TRAPYLEN® before application of the base coat or top coat.
  • A drying temperature above the softening point of TRAPYLEN® is recommended in order to achieve the best results in terms of adhesion strength. Typical drying condition for coating automotive bumpers is 30 mins at 80 °C.
Product Uses
  • TRAPYLEN® 777 is used either as a straight primer or as an adhesion promoter for base coats and pigmented primers. Its principal use is in paintings/coatings for moulded parts in the automotive industry, such as wheel caps or interior panels.
Product Application
  • Using TRAPYLEN® 777 as a primer dilute the solution with toluene to max. 10 % solids. This primer can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing or printing. Drying conditions: 30 s at 80 °C, residual quantity of resin about 3...4 g/m². When using TRAPYLEN® 777 as adhesion promoter in base coats/pigmented primers, the compatibility of the system must be checked. The resulting base coat can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing or printing if the system allows it. Drying conditions: Usually 30 min at 80 °C, residual quantity about 20 g/m².
