Trapylen® 196 S is a primer and adhesion promoter system designed for coating, bonding, printing, and laminating polyolefinic plastics. The primary raw materials it is compatible with include chlorinated polyolefins (CPO), chlorine-free modified polyolefins (APO), and polyurethanes (PUR). Notably, Trapylen® 196 S exhibits good heat seal properties, making it suitable for various applications in the mentioned areas. Xylene is utilized as the solvent in this formulation.

Features & Benefits

Product Highlights
  • TRAPYLEN® 196 S has outstanding affinity to polyolefinic plastics such as polypropylene, PP/EPDM thermoplastic rubbers and - with limitations to adhesion strength - as well to polyethylene.
  • TRAPYLEN® 196 S is used as adhesion promoter respectively additive for any pretreatment of such surfaces for laminating, bonding and painting.
  • The heat sealing properties between alumina and PP are also excellent. TRAPYLEN® 196 S can be used as additive in seen printing inks as well.
