Application and Dosage Information

Deuteron® Wax PE is suitable for a wide range of applica- tions including:

  • Wood and joinery coatings
  • Flexographic and gravure inks
  • Overprint varnishes
  • Metal coatings (can and coil coatings)
  • Powder coatings

The use of Deuteron® Wax PE especially improves perfor- mance in:

  • Abrasion and scratch resistance
  • Rub resistance (printing inks)
  • Matting (conventional coatings and powder coatings)
  • COF (coefficient of friction) reduction

Dosage

  • 0.5 - 3.0 % (calculated on the complete formulation) depending on binder, application and required properties.

Processing

  • Deuteron® Wax PE is easy to disperse and can be incorpo- rated using a common high-speed stirrer. In low viscous systems it might be necessary to use a high shear dispersing unit to properly disperse the material. Process temperature should be kept below 45°C (113°F) It is possible to prepare a pre-mix of Deuteron® Wax PE in a solvent phase at concentrations around 30 – 45 % (depending on the used solvents).
