Application and Dosage Information

Deuteron® Wax A is suitable for a wide range of applications including:

  • Wood and joinery coatings
  • Flexographic and gravure inks
  • Overprint varnishes
  • Metal coatings (can and coil coatings)
  • Powder coatings

The use of Deuteron® Wax A especially improves performance in:

  • Velvet surface feel (soft touch)
  • Sanding properties
  • Long lasting wood grain enhancement (clear coats)
  • Degassing (Powder coatings)
  • Meat-release properties (Can coatings)

Dosage

  • 0.5 - 3.0 % (calculated on the complete formulation) depending on binder, application and required properties.

Processing

  • Deuteron® Wax A is easy to disperse and can be incorpo- rated using a common high-speed stirrer. In low viscous systems it might be necessary to use a high shear dispersing unit to properly disperse the material.
  • The addition of Deuteron® Wax A in water-based coatings can be critical and high shear forces can be necessary to ensure a proper dispersion. For water-based coatings please check also our highly concentrated and easy to use Deuteron® WD A.
