Trapylen® 145 X 5 is a chemically modified low-chlorinated polypropylene renowned for its remarkable affinity to polyolefinic plastics, including PP, PP/EPDM-blends, and, with certain limitations in adhesion strength, PE. The resin in Trapylen® 145 X 5 is characterized by a higher molecular weight within the range of 110,000 and a significantly lower chlorine content compared to other maleic-modified Trapylen® grades. These specific properties contribute to improved adhesion, as well as enhanced heat and chemical resistance. It is primarily utilized as a straight primer, with its principal application in the treatment of molded parts and sealing profiles in the automotive industry, including bumpers, side panels, and door seals.

  • The resin in TRAPYLEN® 145 X 5 has a higher molecular weight in range of 110 000 and a much lower chlorine content in comparision to other maleic modified TRAPYLEN® grades. These properties improve the adhesion and as well the heat and chemical resistance but lower the solubility and compatibility.

  • Application: TRAPYLEN® 145 X 5 is a ready to use primer with 5 % solids and can be applied by spraying, dipping, brushing or printing.
  • Drying conditions: 30 s at 80 °C (100 °C), residual quantity of resin about 3 - 4 g/m².

 

Product Uses
  • TRAPYLEN® 145 X 5 is used as a straight primer. Its principal use is for treatment of moulded parts and sealing profiles in the automotive industry, such as bumpers, side panels and door seals.
  • TRAPYLEN® 145 X 5 is used in industrial applications where PP based plastics are chemically pretreated.
